We’ll be suspending delivery service during the Trick-or-Treat hours from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday, October 31st.
For us, it’s about not asking our drivers to be out delivering in frequently unfamiliar areas at a time when lots and lots are children are out in the dusk and dark. It just seems like a recipe for disaster and too big of a risk. I don’t think that you could convince me that it’s safe for the Trick-or-Treaters. I know that keeping our few drivers off the road is just a drop in the bucket, but those are the only ones I can control, and it’s the right decision for us.
We’ll be taking delivery orders Halloween night which can be made, delivered, and get our drivers back by 6:00 (depending on the number of orders, we’ll probably have a 5:15ish cut-off for delivery orders). Then, we’ll resume deliveries at 8:00.
Halloween is typically the 2nd busiest night in the pizza industry, falling behind Super Bowl Sunday. We understand the cost to our business and the inconvenience to our customers who might have been planning to use our delivery service. We hope that you’ll understand and that if you’re ordering pizza, you’ll order from us, and that you’ll plan to make a pickup (we have curb service–you don’t even have to get out of the car) or have delivery before or after Trick-or-Treat hours.
See you tonight at The Dive.
